Meg Putnam

Founder and CEO

Meg has always had a passion for helping people and for beautiful homes! But combining the two into a sustainable career took some patience and effort. After a 14-year career in healthcare management, she transitioned into the real estate world full time after building a small portfolio of vacation homes, long term rentals, and live-in flips during her afterhours since 2009. Sojourn Homes was then born in June 2021 from a need for high quality vacation rental management with an honest and dependable team. Meg also offers home design services and is constantly on the hunt for houses that need some love! She loves to spend time with her husband Jeff and their three children hiking, swimming, skiing, and camping in the PNW.

Amazing place in great location. Only downfall is adjoining neighbors. You can hear everything that they did.

We loved our getaway! Stunning and private location. Great restaurants all within a couple of miles for easy drives or using ride share. Meg was incredibly responsive before and during our stay. She also went above and beyond to help us when we realized we forgot an item after checkout. Two master suites made it ideal for our trip with friends. We definitely stay again!

Meg's place was the perfect home base while we spent a few days exploring Bend. The home is cozy and filled with light. All three bedrooms felt private from one another. The kitchen was very well stocked. Huge garage for storing bikes and gear. Great walkable location near a beautiful grocery store and lots of good restaurants. Would love to stay here again!

We spent five nights here and would book it again without hesitating. The location is hard to beat. The Deschutes River Trail is walkable from the house, which we used more than once, but what made it feel like an actual home base rather than just a place to sleep was everything else. A big backyard that our dogs loved, a hot tub that got plenty of use after days on the mountain, and a kitchen that made cooking in feel fun and easy. The hosts were responsive and warm without being intrusive. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed, well equipped retreat in Bend.

Our stay in Bend was a mixed experience. While the home was clean and the host was very responsive, we encountered several maintenance issues that impacted our trip. Upon arrival, there was a strong, foul odor in the hallway. The host quickly sent a plumber to clear a rotting blockage, but the repair required us to vacate the home for an entire day. We also noticed the dishwasher doesn't drain properly, leading to a lingering smell. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the hot tub as the water smelled like a pond and it was surrounded by swarms of bees. Inside, the beds were ok, and the kitchen is minimally stocked. We also found several dirty dishes in the cupboards. Bathrooms are clean, however no hairdryer is provided. We truly appreciated the host’s quick communication and effort to fix the plumbing emergency, but between the repair downtime and the unusable amenities, it wasn't the relaxing stay we had hoped for. Good for a quick crash pad, but needs some maintenance and better s

We had a great experience! House was clean and well organized. We really liked the laundry on the same level as the primary sleeping spaces (3rd floor). The kids would have loved a hot tub, generally a requirement when we frequent Bend, but the jetted tub sufficed. The house is situated on a hill, which included a steep driveway (could be an issue for low clearance vehicles). The house was three levels. This arrangement could be challenging to some but we loved it. Helped us get our steps in! We even walked to a coffee shop a couple blocks away, which made for a short, brisk walk. The garage was quite massive, which was nice for storing bikes and such. The deck, while overlooking the driveway, was pleasant and had a nice view into town. While not at all a deal breaker, we would have liked a bit more seating/lounging in the living room. There's a couch and a big single chair, and another single seat chair. Maybe a love seat or second couch would work? Overall, a solid "yes" from us!
